Ken Moyle

Ken, Chairman of the Gibson Ek Foundation, is a seasoned lawyer and business adviser with over 30 years in senior corporate leadership and public advocacy. A military veteran and graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, his broad experience provides invaluable strategic guidance to our organization. Ken has consistently demonstrated a dedication to community through involvement with groups such as Habitat for Humanity and the Mountains-to-Sound Greenway Trust. The genesis of the Gibson Ek Foundation emerged from the profound impact Ken witnessed from his twin children's capstone projects at Gibson Ek, particularly the successful development of the school's 3-D printing lab. This direct experience fuels his leadership in ensuring similar transformative opportunities for all Gibson Ek students. He and his family have been Lakemount residents for three decades.

Mikel Morrow

With a 35-year career in high-tech sales, Mike Morrow brings a wealth of executive leadership and a proven track record of exceeding goals to his role as President of the Gibson Ek Foundation. His experience with companies like Informatica and SAP has equipped him with exceptional skills in fundraising and strategic development, which are applied directly to accelerating the Foundation’s mission.

Mike’s passion for community and youth development is a powerful force behind his volunteer leadership. He has coached youth athletics for over 15 years and has a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation. As a board member for Jobs for WA Grads and a leader of the Gibson Ek PTSA, he has shown a dedication to educational excellence. This history of corporate and volunteer success makes him an inspiring and effective leader, uniquely qualified to help the Foundation achieve its vision of real, personal, and lasting education.

Matt Pelham

With a background working with youth in alternative settings, Matt brings a wealth of experience and passion to the Gibson Ek Foundation.  Previous experiences include leading youth in various outdoor adventure programs, including a wilderness program serving adjudicated youth and 8 years as a Cub Scout den leader.  Matt has also served as the Director of Teen programs for the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club, where he secured grant funding to construct an indoor rock climbing wall.  Matt holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a BS in Recreation Administration from California State University, Chico. He has worked more than 27 years in technology fields, with the last 15 at Docusign.  Matt is also the proud parent of a Class of 2026 Gibson Ek student.​​​​​​​

Janet Bien

Janet brings over 30 years of expertise in finance and business process improvement, stemming from her degrees in Finance (WSU) and Accounting (UW), and seven years as a CPA at Ernst & Young. Her career includes managing business consulting at AT&T Wireless and, since 2005, working as an independent Controller for small companies, overseeing operations, audits, and SEC reporting. Deeply committed to community, Janet also has a long history of providing volunteer accounting services to non-profits, notably the Gibson Ek Foundation. A lifelong Washingtonian, she has resided in Sammamish with her family for two decades.​​​​​​​​​​

Jason Nonis

Jason brings a powerful combination of financial acumen, strategic leadership, and personal passion to his role as Board President. After a distinguished 30-year career in the insurance industry, Jason retired from Liberty Mutual in early 2024. As a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, he is skilled in financial analysis, risk management, and strategic planning, making him uniquely qualified to help the foundation achieve its ambitious $1 million funding goal.

Beyond his professional expertise, Jason has a long-standing commitment to community. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and local schools for years. His personal connection to the Gibson Ek community is a significant motivator, as his son is a student at the school. This vested interest drives his passion for the foundation's mission.​​​​
